Can't wait for Art & Sole, a super fun group show at Pegge Hopper Gallery! I made mini slippah magnets and a fun interactive display. Show dates: Feb 17 - April 1, 2017.

Have you heard of the "100 Days Project"? After seeing my friends make 100 days of really great art, I decided to jump on it too. I'm going to spend 100 days exploring watercolors. Since early January, I've been learning thru daily experimentation and play...It is SO FUN!
This rainbow painting is part of my 100 Days Project. View the collection online or check #beachcake100 on Instagram. (What would your 100 Days Project be? Hope you're inspired!)
I will continually add selected watercolors to my online shop at beachcake.etsy.com. One of my goals this year is to fill my shop with more things: one of a kind ceramic totems and ring dishes, as well as ceramic magnets, cards and books. So check back every once in a while. You might find the perfect thing!
It's been a while, my friends! I hope you are well. I have so much news to share! Here's a quick overview of what I've done so far and what's next. The year began with my mixed media surf art at the Punahou Carnival Art Gallery and ceramic cups in a group show called CUPid at Louis Pohl Gallery. Next up is Art + Sole, a group show at Pegge Hopper Gallery that opens this week. I'm also part of a new art collective called the Super Awesome Art Squad (hehe!), and March-May, we will be in a studio space at Na Mea Hawaii's Aupuni Place. At the end of March, I'm heading to Portland for the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts conference...because I won a Multicultural Fellowship for first time attendees! Hooray for being hapa-haole! Those are my plans so far.... stay tuned for more exciting things to come!
p.s. The watercolor above is part of the 100 Days Project I began in January. More about that in my next post.
